Burghley Lecture
 
A Burghley Lecture will be held on Thursday 30 January 2025.  The lecture 'Lord Burghley as a Grandfather: intergenerational relationships within the Cecil family' will be given by Dr Susan M Cogan.
 
Susan M. Cogan is the Lord Burghley Visiting Fellow at St. John's College, Cambridge during Lent Term 2025. She is Associate Professor of History at Utah State University and Director of the University's Undergraduate Teaching Fellows Program and the Medieval and Early Modern Studies program. Her research examines the social history of the English Reformations, political and cultural implications of early modern architecture and gardens, gender, and kinship. Her current book project is an analysis of intergenerational relationships between grandparents and grandchildren. 
 
The lecture will begin at 5.30pm in the Main Lecture Theatre, Old Divinity School and will be followed by a drinks reception in the Central Hall of the Old Divinity School.
